GamCare, a British charitable organization, has declared the selection of Lester Posner and Jas Bindarh as new board members.

Posner, a seasoned professional in the communications field with more than 25 years of experience, currently holds the position of Head of Communications at the UK Health and Safety Executive. He began his professional journey as a reporter and later joined the Government Communications Service, where he led teams across numerous departments and independent entities, providing guidance to ministers, executives, and boards.

Bindarh, a certified accountant and regulatory advisor, has devoted most of her career to the corporate and investment banking sectors, concentrating on the changing regulatory environment. Prior to joining GamCare, she collaborated with other charitable organizations and entities within the gambling harm sector, and worked alongside mental health service providers as a service user advisor.

Margot Daly, Chair of the GamCare Board, conveyed her pleasure at welcoming Posner and Bindarh as trustees. “They both bring a wealth of knowledge from their respective areas of expertise, and I am certain that they will make a substantial contribution to our efforts to continue raising awareness of gambling support in the UK,” she stated. “I anticipate working alongside them both.”

GamCares February suggestions for managing gambling-related financial burdens, emphasizing increased cooperation among organizations to diminish the negative effects of gambling, arrive subsequent to these dual appointments.

This follows the second in a sequence of Gambling-Related Financial Harms (GRFH) seminars hosted by GamCare in November, which scrutinized gambling debt and how various sectors can more effectively assist clients with gambling-related financial burdens.

The gathering assembled over 60 attendees and featured knowledgeable speakers from the University of Bristol and Lloyds Banking Group, debt counseling organizations such as Citizens Advice, PayPlan, and StepChange, as well as speakers with firsthand experience of gambling-related financial burdens.
