Bayes Esports, an esports data firm located in Berlin, just secured a substantial €6 million (approximately $6.2 million) in strategic investment. This influx of capital originated from a group of prominent figures in technology and gaming, demonstrating the industry’s belief in Bayes’ prospects.

The company is thriving, projecting a doubling of its 2021 revenue this year, which already surpassed the €1 million threshold. Spearheading the investment is no other than casino titan Las Vegas Sands, a clear indication of the convergence potential between esports and conventional gaming.

Joining the endeavor is Bitkraft, a venture capital firm renowned for its astute investments in gaming, Web3, and immersive technology. Their participation speaks volumes about the innovative trajectory Bayes is pursuing.

CEO Martin Dachselt stressed that Bayes wasn’t simply seeking any investor, but rather collaborators who align with their ambition of formalizing esports. “We require robust support to construct an inclusive ecosystem that advantages all,” Dachselt elaborated.

Guided by Dachselt and COO Amir Mirzaee, Bayes furnishes the data infrastructure for professional esports competitions. Their 50-person team serves over 150 clients in wagering, media, and the esports realm itself, boasting prominent names like Google and bet365 on their client list.

Looking forward, Mirzaee emphasized two primary objectives: capturing the US market and obtaining those crucial betting supplier permits in Europe and America. This strategic growth positions Bayes to evolve into a global esports force.

Early in the year, Bayes and ESL Gaming enhanced their collaboration, branching out into additional games and investigating fresh opportunities in data and promotion.

Concurrently, within the realm of casinos, Las Vegas Sands experienced a less than ideal commencement to the year. Their first-quarter earnings revealed a deficit of $478 million. A tough blow indeed.
