This designation is a component of a broader transformation at Catena Media to prioritize their product offerings. The company aspires for this fresh trajectory, in conjunction with other current leadership adjustments, to aid in reversing their latest financial difficulties.

The organization’s Q1 2024 earnings statement was underwhelming, revealing a 49% decline in income compared to the corresponding timeframe last year. The North American sports wagering sector was particularly impacted, with income plunging 70%. Catena’s CEO, Pierre Cadena, labeled the outcomes “unsatisfactory” and cited heightened rivalry and diminished marketing expenditures from operators as primary contributors.

These outcomes trail a similarly challenging Q4, which motivated Catena to implement changes at the helm. They lately designated a new CEO, Manuel Stan, and a new Group CFO, Michael Gerrow.

Kals’s noteworthy credentials encompass periods at QuinStreet, Searchmetrics, MarketMuse, and most recently, CafeMedia, where she held the position of their Director of Product Management.

Following her tenure at TMZ, where she functioned as Executive Director, driving digital product evolution and planning, Kals transitioned her impressive skillset to Catena, embracing the complexities of her present position.

Notably, Kals has been juggling multiple roles since 2022, harmonizing her duties at Catena with her position as Co-Founder and leader of Product and Technology at SYNQ.
