Times Square Alliance Endorses Caesars Palace Casino Project
The Times Square Alliance is backing the suggested Caesars Palace casino in Times Square, referencing the current shuttering of many Broadway productions as evidence of the district’s difficult post-pandemic rebound. With sixteen plays scheduled to close in the approaching months, affecting almost 40% of Broadway venues, the Alliance contends that Times Square requires a stimulus. They highlight the Caesars Palace venture as a method to draw fresh tourists and reinforce Times Square’s standing as a top entertainment locale. This follows Caesars Entertainment’s declaration last October outlining their collaboration with SL Green Realty to bring the casino to 1515 Broadway. The initiative has been promoting its potential financial advantages, including employment generation and tax income for the municipality, in an attempt to garner public endorsement.
The theatrical organization has formally backed the suggested Caesars Palace development in the heart of Manhattan. They are confident this venture, a partnership between SL Green, Caesars Entertainment, and Roc Nation, will significantly alter the neighborhood. They anticipate it will attract more than 400,000 additional attendees to theatrical productions each year, injecting over $65 million in new funds into the Theater District.
Their endorsement originates from the project’s architecture, which they claim is meticulously designed to advantage both Broadway and the broader Times Square vicinity. They envision it evolving into a center of activity, drawing visitors and residents alike to its accommodations, dining establishments, entertainment spots, and naturally, the dazzling lights of the Great White Way.
